More Abrasive Than Sand In Your Crotch
C & P from Halliburton:
Halliburton in CASPER (evansville) WYOMING is currently hiring for the following entry level positions:
Operator assistant 1 FRAC/ACID
Operator assistant 1 CEMENTING
I do not work for halliburton, but I work with them and have worked for them in the past. The above positions are the best way to get your foot in the door in the upstream oil/gas industry. A very reliable contact told me "if they apply and come to Casper, they will have a job". Due to Persec I will not elaborate further...
You will be paid hourly rate, but there is A LOT of overtime, possibly 80 hours of overtime or more a week (on top of your 40).
Due to overtime, it is extremely hard to estimate how much you can make a year, but a low estimate is $65k your first year though many people make MUCH more than that. One arfcom member here made close to 100k his first year working for halliburton in Vernal Utah doing Cement.
Halliburton will send you to CDL school and PAY YOU your hourly rate while you get your CDL and go through training. They may also pay for your hotel in Casper for a few months or possibly help with relocation expenses (you will have to check details on that).
You can have a $3 raise within a few months if you keep up on your training program.
There is perdiem.
They have excellent insurance, benefits, etc.
Frac has a schedule of two weeks on, one week off (PAID 40 HOURS ON YOUR WEEK OFF).
I do not know the schedule for cement.
Apply online at www.gohalliburton.com THEN call (307) 473-8200 and talk to someone about employment. DO NOT CALL FIRST, fill out the online application first, then call.
Is Halliburton an oil company? What does Halliburton do?
Halliburton isn't an oil company, but we do work very closely with oil companies. Halliburton is an energy services company. Oil companies contract our services, our people and our technologies to help them produce and maintain their oil and gas wells. When hydrocarbons are located, we drill to determine if oil and gas can be produced. If a well is determined to be viable, then we begin production. Throughout the life of the field, we ensure that our customers get optimal production rates. All of the services we provide help our customers meet the world's demand for energy.
What we do:
To get a better idea of what we do and how we fit into the industry, imagine that the oil company wants a house built, not an oil well drilled. In that case, it would hire various contractors to perform different aspects of the job – someone to handle the plumbing, someone to do the painting, someone to lay the bricks, and so on.
In the real world, because the oil companies are trying to develop oil reservoirs, they hire energy services companies to help them:
Locate oil and gas assets
Evaluate their assets
Drill wells
Produce the oil from the wells
Make sure the wells produce as much oil as possible.
Because Halliburton is such a large and diverse organization, we perform all of these jobs. We have different groups – called product service lines – that handle each task.
