Default Kitchen Remodelers/Contractors on the Forum?

We've had a small leak in our kitchen faucet for a short time now. One of those things I've been meaning to replace but haven't gotten around to.

Last night we noticed a leak under the sink. I didn't realize the extent of what was wrong until this morning.

Closer inspection revealed the sink is cracked all the way through along the bottom. The sink/counter top are all one piece and looks like it will need to be replaced.

I'm looking for someone on the forum who does this sort of thing. It's kind of an emergency job since we can't use the sink much until it's repaired. We're looking at new countertops, some minor under-sink plumbing repairs, installing new kitchen faucets. Possibly replacing a kitchen island countertop as well.

    Anyone? Suggestions?

If I may crowd in on your thread - we need the shelf replaced under at least two of our sinks too. So if there's anybody looking at this thread that does this, or knows someone that does, please PM me as well!

The countertop is about 14' 2" long by 25" wide. It's about 39.5" wide at the sink. The small shelf behind the sink under the window is 39"x6" approximately. It widens to about 29.5" at the far end near the stove.

The island is about 6'x4' 2" and obviously is the same material.

It appears to be some sort of synthetic like Corrian.

You can see where the faucet is leaking and the crack in the sink (top and bottom of sink photos). Additionally, the cold water shut-off valve started leaking when I shut the water off.

I'm sure everything is original to the house so it's been there for 23 years.

Usually directly behind the handle on the water shut off there is a packing nut-tighten that and hopefully the leak will stop until further repairs. Hope that helps The sink looks like an under mount and that should be replaceable without replacing counter tops.

    OK...I'll give that a shot.

ETA: That seems to have worked. It may still be leaking but it's only a drop or two in a minute. Thanks for the tip. I know very little about plumbing.

Staples has that stuff Billy Mayes was selling that you can mix and spread it should work temporarily till you get it fixed properly.

There's a lot of new stuff out there that should fix a crack in the sink at least temporarily. Check your local hardware stores.
