You try too hard to be a hard ass. Are you planning on hand making a pine box for grandma and towing her to the cemetery on a horse drawn wagon too?

If you break your leg--do you take a hit of whisky and bite a stick and set it yourself or go to the ER? It's your leg so you should set it yourself.
A gunshot can be a humane way of dispatching an animal but modern drugs can make it much more humane.
Are you saying that being humane equals pussified?

I was raised to handle things myself, and I'm sure the others here raised similarly will back me up on this. I see it as almost disrespectful to the animal to have some stranger be the one to end its suffering, or anyone else other than its master for that matter.
By "end its suffering" I don't mean all of that "life is hard, the world is evil" bullshit, I mean in the sense that there's no need to put it down if its in good health.

You apparently don't understand my line of thinking.
No, if I break a leg I will go see a professional that fixes people for a living. If my dog gets very sick, I will go take him to a professional that can help him.
But if its time, then its time...

So do you bag all your trash and drive it to the dump as well? Where do you draw the line? I understand what you are trying to express, but are you going to prefer that your kids shoot you in the face when it's your "time?"

I've lived far enough away from town that burning trash was more convenient, and did so. But there's someone that specializes in transporting people's waste to the dump, I live in an area that they service, and I don't owe any respect to a trash bag.
If something were to happen to me and nothing more can reasonably be done to save my life, I'd prefer that they pull the plug. I don't want to be confined to a hospital bed for the rest of my life, conscious or unconscious. But that's getting into a different conversation.

Wait...you mean you wouldn't want your old man to toss you in a hole and blow your brains out instead?

Yeah, I'd like to be tossed in a hole somewhere (buried, not cremated), preferably with my skull intact though.

No. ^^Thaaats^^ where it gets off track.

It's quite obvious that humans aren't dogs but the logic there is fucking stupid, I'm no animal rights spokesperson here but gtfo of here with that old yeller shit dude.
