I would strongly advise against re-painting your car... there are certain areas that even pros miss on paint jobs that show what the original color is. When it comes time to sell that's one of the things I- the buyer- look for. Has the car been re-painted? If so, why? 9/10 times it's because the car has been wrecked, and some people can do some amazing things without carfax finding out, so it could appear clean but in reality not be. If you really want to re-paint your car though make sure you take it somewhere good, MAACO has a history of doing a somewhat decent job, but empty your car out first- I have a friend who got rear ended and bought a new trunk lid at a salvage yard that didn't match the paint job, took it to MAACO to match it and had 15 CDs stolen and his GPS somehow grew legs and walked away.

Maybe they could just do some touching up of a matching color for the gravel scratches. Also, do you think they can pop out any hail dings?

a good shop can do blending that would be hard pressed to notice.
    1) age and make of vehicle
    2) 2-3-4 door hatch back etc.
    3) how much (to the untrained eye) body work is needed prior to prime & paint.
    4) Price Range you need to stay in

I would check blue book value before investing X dollars that you might never recoup for a sale.
Unless your vehicle is a total disaster consider having it professionally detailed. cleaning here, buffing there and you would be surprised what the results are

And for the record, Maaco sucks. They are absolutely hands down the worst place you could take your car to to get painted. If you have a complete POS or a tractor that you want painted then there $300 paint job is for you, but if you even care a little bit about your vehicle and what it looks like avoid Maaco at all costs

I paid $300 just for the last gallon of clear I bought.

My thoughts on car painting. If you do ALL of the prep work yourself and just want to sell the car in a couple of years then a Maaco $300 job may work out in the original color.

If you are wanting to keep the car and change color there are some brands of paint that are lesser lines and can help keep the cost down. Color change mandates new weatherstripping and rubber pieces along with a bunch of labor to do it right.

If it is a newer car or some of the older ones where the engine compartment is body color then more $$$.

So many variables. Years ago people would see one of my cars and would ask if I would paint theirs. My normal reply was "I start at $5,000 and go up". Mtn.man does paint ask him.

The actual painting is 10% of the work. It is all about the canvas ya put it on and the work to get there.
I see you running, tell me what your running from

Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.
