"I talked to the two officers," said Nick Rogers, President of the police officers union. "And they are as happy as a person can be."

He said the firings were "based on a political outcry."
That's just delusional. There has to be a huge hiring pool that DPD could dip into to fill those positions and retain some sense of professionalism.

I am disappointed in this decision...

You and me both. Your post oozes restraint. Understandable. I know my old agency would have fired them for lying in their report alone. They would have probably had to deal with assault charges too. They would quit in less than 6 months if they worked for me. I don't but into the inmates being in control of the asylum.

I think this says it all. He has the perspective from both sides of the blue line.

If this doesn't convince you that the City of Denver PD is FUBAR, nothing will.
One of my wifes friends was an Admin in Whitmans office. She said the last 5 years was a total mess.
Sickening decision, I hope it gets appealed successfully.

Instead of patrol duties, they are running a desk. No driving around, no seeing people on the streets. Fine with me! ( After a few years, they will quit.)
When you resign, you get no pension benefits. The city saves a fortune that way. It's all about the money! There is nothing this country you cannot buy. Except me...
