    That is beyond stupid.

A true patriot would hire a citizen.

    Holy shit...

That article was written with so much slant it could be a slide on a playground.

And yet if forced to do without illegal labor, vast sectors of the U.S. economy, from agriculture to construction, would founder -- not to mention the putting greens infested by crab grass and the children who would run riot without care. Even the U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports legalizing undocumented workers who are "already contributing to our economy," provided they don't otherwise run afoul of the law.

    Ohh dear gawd!!!

The Putting Greens!!!! OH EMM GEEE!!!

and we would have to care for our own childrens!!! OHH LAWDY!!

why don't they get it... ILLEGAL Means against the law... to be a CRIMINAL.

It's not an issue of 3 mph over limit... this is, someone is here leeching the system, working under the table and sending their money out of the country!

    Do we need reform? Absolutely
NOT Amnesty... Reform. Less BS Paperwork and fees and other bureaucratic shit...

As it is it will cost Mrs. Byte just under 1K to stay Legally....
we started the paperwork in July, we will be done in NOVEMBER
I jokingly told her that she should let it expire, become an illegal and get more assistance, welfare and benefits.

sad part is, we would be better off.

^^ Exactly. My fiance is a permanent resident. It's going to cost her like $600 to take the citizenship test.

here's the big problem with illegals
they put the legal business's out of business.

well, who's left to pay all these bullshit taxes, fees, etc to stay in business?

nobody, and we're rapidly getting there.

How much did it cost for her to become a permanent resident? My wife is a permanent resident and when we did the paperwork it cost us almost 2500 bucks, then will be another 1K next june.

Not sure, but it was expensive. She has 2 siblings who were born here, her parents got their residency and citizenship first, and 2 other siblings other than her are citizens now. She ended up as the last one. I'm sure the process for the whole family was DAMN expensive.

I agree with Byte! What they don't get though is that if there weren't any illegals to work construction and agriculture then who would work those jobs? OH YEAH! AMERICANS! How much further into this deep dark hole must we slip? No one ever mentions in the liberal media that these heathens don't pay taxes, and over 80% of them don't speak English! It's not enough that they send a lot of their income back to Mexico [er country of origin- not all illegals are Mexican ], they don't pay taxes, they don't speak the language, and they wave their 3rd world country flags instead of the Stars and Stripes. WTF? Maybe if we had an administration with some testicular fortitude we could fix this problem! Ugh! Why do I have to wait 9 more years until I'm eligible to run for President!?

The liberal media always acts like Americans won't do the jobs the illegals do. That's utter bs. Most Americans won't submit to slavery the way illegals will. It costs a certain amount to live in America. Housing, food, clothes. If employers would lose the illegal migrant workers, then they would be forced to pay Americans a living wage or not get the work done. It really wouldn't raise the cost of the finished product that much. If you pay someone 15$ an hour instead of 7$ is not going to double the price of lettuce. Even if it did I would be willing to pay the premium to give Americans the opportunity to work. Make an environment that requires deadbeat employers to up their wages and I think there would be a difference.

You're always going to have the lazy that won't work for any wage. That's a different subject.

You will also have those who claim to never being able to find an American citizen who can do a good job. Never been able to understand that one. In any given location are skilled labors who do excellent work leading me to believe that the people making those claims simply don't want to pay for quality. Do your homework and hire reputable craftsmen and be willing to pay what they are worth and you won't be able to make those claims.
