Gas is the only thing I care about it's location.. apparently isn't a concern to xcel.
Unless your gas line is fed from the front side of the house to the meter. Then you would have squat for markings if you only requested the back yard. They will only locate what is requested, to the letter on your description.
Was a sketch or clear ticket left ? Or if a dog is in the back yard the locators will not even attempt to enter the back yard.
I once saw a Ditch Witch hit a 2" IP gas line, damn awesome sight.

Back yard is all open, My guess is that it comes from the street side. which would be no problem.

Yes, the 2"ers can be beautiful..

Ok guys.. Marlin says I should be good. I'll take his word for it.

    18" deep correct marlin?

As a side note.. if Marlin is wrong... and I should go up in a fire ball of awesomeness..

My guns and ammo are first come first serve.. But if you're gonna hang out for the guns and ammo.. you better bring a shovel.. We'll call it 'gas line roulette'

Well, with the shovel, I doubt that you will be able to puncture the pipe. 18" is good. But, if you hear a non dirt thunk, go slow.

If it is there, it may be between 12-18 deep.

    I doubt it though..

If digging is tuff and a not certain gas line location, leave the pick and rock bar in the garage.
