    Default Honor Among Thieves?

So, 2 guys burglarize a house to steal blank CD-R disks so they can burn music. Get home and find kiddie porn on stolen CDs. Turn guy they burglarized in to the cops. Cops arrest burglary victim...don't charge burglars.

HERE'S the story. Funny in a wierd kinda way.

I hope the 2 burglars get busted too. Uncovering a crime during the commission of a crime shouldn't release you from your offense.

it may sound strange but i think id rather have thieves running around before pedophiles . but ill agree it seems strange to let the burglars go too .

I'm just glad to see the word "burglars."

    Way better than "thieves"

burgled is way better than robbed, too

Its strange to let them go, but think about the message it sends. If they busted the burglers, then anyone else who commits a crime, and finds something, will not turn in the someone else thats a lot worse. Besides the burglers will get caught and jailed soon enough anyway.

i just think that while breaking into someones home may not be as bad as going after children it is right up there in there in personal violation . maybe knock off some of the sentience say just chop off a finger instead of the whole hand ,......oh wait thats right we dont chop off hands for stealing

So now buglers will be carrying kiddie porn now. If they get busted robbing someone they turn their victim in so they won't be charged.

    Too bad...
I see property as one level, violation of personal rights is a much worse crime. Ie, stealing a car, breaking into a house, robbing a bank etc. Those are stuff related. Rape, molestation, murder, all personal violations, and much worse. Id easily trade 5 non-violent robbers (steal when no one is around) for 1 personal crime, even 10:1. Everyone will eventually get caught, the difference is the personal violator is causing far more damages than the thief.
