I remember the first time I explained to an Obama supporter that Democrats notoriously ban firearms and have been trying for years to get a national handgun ban.

This guy looked at me and said "no shit, are you serious?" To which I replied "yep." To which he then replied "fuck that shit, I'm voting for McCain."

While the majority of Democrats tend to be anti-gun, it just goes to show the ignorance of the 2008 election cycle... and then some.

not to mention that when reconstruction ended the crackdown on rights of black people, (KKK, poll taxes, segregation) as well as the opposition to the civil rights movement in the 60's was done by southern democrats.

and, gun control got a boost when blacks started arming themselves for self defense.
