Just had a good idea. I might try a little camo with some barb wire or concertina wire. That would make for a neat pattern.

All of my ammo cans are pretty nice. I need to pick up a couple of beat up ones to practice with.

Ray and Chad .. guys I'll be more than happy to help ya out. I guess all that you really need is to get either the Krylon cammo or flat colors .... or you can order the Aervoe from Brownells, Midway or direct from the manufacturers.

I've lucked out and found most of my cammo Krylon at WalMart especially good supplies this time of year because of the hunting seasons.

Either way guys.. I'm happy to help, the only day next week that I'm already swamped is Wednesday.. I'm even game for Saturday if you've gotten your paint already.

Just PM me when you're thinkin' you'd like to give this a whirl. Here are some steps that will speed up the process..

    1. Clean the hell out of the surface that you want painted. Make sure you've removed all oils and grime.

    2. Separate the parts you want painted. It's easier to do piece by piece, but there isn't anything wrong with doing whole weapons all at once. You're call.. I've just found it easier to do it in pieces.

    3. I don't drink beer much these days, but I'm a huge fan of Cherry Vodka

    4. Have an idea of what you'd like to do.. examples help a ton. When theskalickys made it here, he was still really torn on a pattern. So we looked at several sites and images and finally settled on the lined / grassy look that you see.

Either way folks, this is pretty easy to do if you take your time, do a little reading, but hey I'm happy to teach and help out.

Alright you guys talked me into it. I have been on the fence about rattle canning an AR or two and I think that I am going to go for it. Is there a thread on here somewhere that has a lot of pics for ideas? I think that I know what I wand but more ideas is always a plus. I'll post pics here in a couple days when it is done, provided that it looks not too crappy.
