I'm currious if the barrel is attached to the forend besides the barrel band.

The bbl is for now proprietary, It locks in to the receiver using a cam type lug on the bbl to a female socket on the receiver. Nothing that cannot be fab'd up with milling machine and lathe. Don't expect the aftermarket bbl's to be under $150-200 once they hit the market. When they do, some beta testing will probably happen as not all head space might be the same on the take down 10/22's. Browse rimfirecentral and see what the rimfire version of AR nutz are saying.

    Scored some glass today!

    Leupold VX2 2-7x33

I had to mount the glass bit father back than I would have liked, so when I take the rifle apart it will still go in the carry bag. Not a major deal, but something to think about if you are in the market for one these.

Now, to go shoot the girl!! hopefully sometime this week.

    Thumbs up

Headed out to CGC with Ray1970 on this wet and chilly morning to zero my new 10/22 Takedown. After a quick 1 mag zeroing in with the Barska Plinker 4x scope at 25 yards, I took it out to 50 yards with very good groupings as well.

That last target was at 25 yards using a front only sandbag on the bench. Not bad considering the wind was kicking up and I couldn't feel the tips of my fingers anymore.

After 100+ rounds downrange, I am quite pleased with it. Zero malfunctions using cheap Remington bulk ammo in the factory 10 round magazines.

I already have (2) 25 round Ruger BX-25 mags enroute, and reviewers say they work great with it as well. As mentioned, I also had to mount the scope rings way back to have it fit back in the bag, but with the generous eye relief of the Barska, it's really not a big deal.

I give it two thumbs way up. The case fits dandy in my bug out bag along with a box of 500+ rounds. I'll post photos of it all again soon, since the sever meltdown wiped out the original posting.

I can't wait for my next adventure out there, where I plan to all out assault the rimfire silhouette range with it!

Yeah, the only thing I'm changing is the bolt release from the factory two hand operation one to an aftermarket one hander. As I also have a converted MAK AK-47 and a SCAR 16S, this is easily the least "tacticool" rifle in my collection. That being said, I have a feeling it's on it's way to becoming my range favorite! It's fun, accurate, and an $18 box of 525 rounds should last several trips. My fav is shooting steel targets, and trust me, they don't care if I'm shooting them with a $2500 gun or a $300 gun!

You ordering one in or modifying your stock one?

I'm heading to the range over lunch tomorrow if it kills me.

I think this is the longest I've owned a new firearm without pulling the trigger!

I'll post up a report in how it went.

Nah, ordered one off "gunandsurplus" on eBay for $10 shipped. Should have it tomorrow. Once I get that, I might be more adventurous with modding the stock part just for fun.
