    Well it cost us about $2500 when the engine on my '91 Toyota went out and we bought a new(ish) one from Japan with less than 40K on it... so I guess shipping from Europe could be comparable...

    German engines would run a bit more then that. Just for comparison a head gasket job on a 330 runs 2500.
