    Looks like it is officially out.

    Scuttlebutt is someone was burning trash. I hope that is not true.

    I was up at lake Estes when the fire stareted. The fire was about less than a mile away from my wife and I.

    Glad you made it out safely.

    My wife and I love visiting Estes Park in the early fall when the elk are bugling (mid-late September). I'm afraid it just won't be as beautiful this year.

    I know they've done many controlled burns in the Park through the years. Let's see if their efforts will pay off. Let's hope they get this thing out quickly.

    Man, I've been watching the beetle-killed tree areas get larger and larger, and have been afraid we were going to have a bad fire season some year.
