Definately a tough year for fires.
Definately a tough year for fires.
Looks like it is officially out.

Heard on the news last night that a state fire official stated that the only thing that would help at all is for Colorado to get a 5 day rain. Things are just so dry that the typical rains we get here won't wet things enough to make a real difference.
As you say "this fawking state is screwed".

I was up at lake Estes when the fire stareted. The fire was about less than a mile away from my wife and I.
Glad you made it out safely.
My wife and I love visiting Estes Park in the early fall when the elk are bugling (mid-late September). I'm afraid it just won't be as beautiful this year.
I know they've done many controlled burns in the Park through the years. Let's see if their efforts will pay off. Let's hope they get this thing out quickly.

Man, I've been watching the beetle-killed tree areas get larger and larger, and have been afraid we were going to have a bad fire season some year.
Last time I washed one of the Ferrari's by hand it rained like mad..
