Laugh all ya want, but I've been cutting my hair with one of these and a ShopVac for 9 years now. God only knows how much money I've saved. Best beard trimmer ever too!

Nah man, it works great. You have to have a powerful Shop-Vac though, and it won't work on super-curly hair or really long hair. It uses spacers, and you determine the cut length by stacking the spacers. You can make different areas different lengths too.

It'll only cut down to 1/2" with the shortest spacer, unless you want to go with no safety and no spacer, which is perfect beard length for me. Even then, 1/4" is the shortest. But without the spacer/safety guard you risk pulling skin into it, which might not end well.

I heard that the guy that invented it lives on a private island now.
