Especially if it is a sport bike. As with any new vehicle the second it leaves the lot it loses value VERY quickly. You are instantly going to be upside down. With sport bikes it is even worth.
If you have a "good" down payment use that money and score a smoking deal on craigslist and buy one cash. Then you will have no monthly payment, you can put as much or as little insurance as you wish on it. Almost all new bikes are the same as older models with very minimal differences (more electronics and different suspenison are the biggest differences.) I have scored some smoking deals off craigslist and ALWAYS flipped them and made money. Even when I wholesaled them to local dealerships.
If you are looking at a ZX10 look at the 2005 model. Lightest year with the most ponies due to the a very high compression motor. I had one and it ran like a cheetah on cocaine. That thing was a screamer.
