Personally, I like Chik-Fil-A, I admire the fact they are sticking to their guns and not letting the bullies get to them.

Is it right? well that is for them to decide, not us. Its their company, large or small they decide how to run their company. The problem here is that for some damned reason the (liberal busybody) public at large feels like they can force their will on anyone, especially if its "public".
Well piss off, thats not how it works children.
If someone came into my shop and said I had to hire or could not fire so-and-so because of whatever reason that struck my damned fancy, I would tell them to fuck off with a smile on my face while I did so. If they tried to force me to hire someone I did not want to hire, I would literally shut down at close of business.

I am going to assume that since the family BUILT the damned business with their own hard work, careful planning, and a lot of luck, they aren't going to give a flying fuck what anyone has to say, and they shouldnt. If their policies are X, then thats the way it is.
IS it fair? Thats not material or relevant.
Is it the right thing to do? Thats for them to decide.

Well said. What ever happened to the practice of not supporting things you don't like by not supporting it economically? I won't patronize companies that are openly anti-gun, but I don't expect them to change their ways because of me. If enough people go elsewhere, they'll have to decide if their policies/beliefs/whatever are important enough to stick to. But no, the socialists are not satisfied until they get their way; no one else needs to have an opinion if it differs from theirs. They'll shout you down, accuse you of anything they can think of, whatever they need to do to get what THEY want.

The demonstrations and luv-ins of the 60s were the libs glory days - and they want to recreate that any way they can. They thought the OWS crap was it, bit it was co-opted by the hardcore demonstrators and the public recognizes them for the POS they are. It has become clear that their numerous boycotts and attacks against single businesses are ineffective, so they just become bigger haters....

I support their right to do whatever they want with their own business.
As I support the A&W in Frisco having their religious messages on their menu board (Hell, I even give them business just because of that, you know corporate has been trying to push them to not display Christian messages for years now).
I only wish that more people supported the 1st amendement even when it goes against their own beliefs.
The amount of hateful posts I received in my recent shenanigans, mostly from so called defenders of the Constitution, was just unreal.
If this business is against gay rights, well it's their right!
You cannot push your rights on somebody infringing on theirs.

Here's a great editorial about the differences between hated, bigotry, and toleration, and how some people like to apply them selectively.

    They released a statement recently:

The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect – regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 Restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.

Chick-fil-A is a family-owned and family-led company serving the communities in which it operates. From the day Truett Cathy started the company, he began applying biblically-based principles to managing his business. For example, we believe that closing on Sundays, operating debt-free and devoting a percentage of our profits back to our communities are what make us a stronger company and Chick-fil-A family.

Our mission is simple: to serve great food, provide genuine hospitality and have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.
