I got my CDL when I moved here 12 years ago, and it was the easiest DMV trip ever. Loveland used to have a small DMV office that was located about three minutes from my office. There were no other customers when I arrived, and all of the employees were friendly and jocular. It took about 5-10 minutes max, and that included registering as a Republican voter.

Ha, you guys are just a bunch of fear mongerers!!!

I was in the exact same boat as you, Honey Badger. I am active duty AF, moved up here from TX almost 2 years ago and just recently got my CODL. It's pretty easy. You don't need a BC. Also, I am still a TX resident as far as taxes are concerned, but registered to vote here.

If you can, avoid the DMV by Pete like the plague and drive up to the one on N. Union in the Albertson's shopping center. Go in uniform and you cut to the front of the line. When I went I think it took me about 5 minutes total to get my DL. And the chick helping me was pretty cute, too.

The website will tell you everything you need to bring, and if you have questions just give them a call.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

CDL's are a much bigger PITA now. You can only do them at particular locations (and loveland isn't one of them anymore), the med card, the driving test at someplace you have to pay (yeah, sorry, you don't want those people you already pay for getting up do you?)

    wait
I just realized you meant COLORADO driver's license, not COMMERCIAL driver's license.
