It should take zero time, honest citizens pays and walks. No background check or nuttin'.
Criminals don't do background checks, why should upstanding citizens.
In Texas, if you have a CHL the background check requirements are waived.
There was a call for that here in Colorado but it didn't pass. Maybe next time...
