I had to replace my hard drive when it happened to me. You know how it says not to power it off when the hard drive light is on? I had a nice 2 second power blip that started it.

My symptoms were: No gun at spawn, couldn't switch to items, knife, etc. Jumping in a vehicle would work fine. The load screen took longer. Other people were spawned and fighting and I was still on load screen.

The good news is its a piece of cake to change it, if that's your problem. I put in a 750gb with a higher spin.

I just bought this ps3 like a month ago I did hve the verry first ps3 80 gig and it finaly gave me the yellow light of death so I dont think it has anything to do with the ps3
