I am going to agree with you here. The one about falling in the water, I selected the start a fire option to get warm and dry out. WRONG! "Change your clothes and get in a sleeping bag" WHAT? In what survival situation are you going to have a change of clothes and a sleeping bag that didn't get wet with you? Am I camping or surviving and trying to get out of the situation? I also selected water in the Urban survival situation for the same reasons ronaldrwl did haha. 14/25.

i learned years ago from a native american guy that they would use the core of a yuca for their bow drill since once dry they are very hard and produce nice friction fires

Agreed- and who sets up a quiz that makes you change pages after each question?

Right? Why not have 'Sit in the sauna at the Ranger Station' on there? That question owned me, too.

On the plus-side, I learned that I can eat pigweed from this quiz.

    Facing a shelter door east??
The most severe storms in Colorado are from the east!

In an urban survival scenario, your priority is ...Shelter?
In an urban environment shelter is everywhere.

Is there even basswood in Colorado?
It is only native to north-eastern US... sorry.

    Setting dozens of traps?
That seems like a waste of time until you prove the area is even productive.

Bug out bag most valuable is shelter?
If you have a bag and are bugging out you probably also have a vehicle.- no shelter needed.

Get your campfire going under any conditions?
Sorry a lighter doesn't work when wet or raining heavily... but a spark rod always works.

If ya got a 100%, Colorado is not your survival location.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

17 but I will agree with many of the posters. Having grown up in Oregon I feel for the natives that have never seen Moss.

Moss? WTF is that???? Saw it in a picture once. A very non SW quiz. At least I knew that Beavers have lots of calories.
I see you running, tell me what your running from

Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.

The only beaver I've eaten didn't have any calories.

I didn't do so well, and I'll claim the questions/answers didn't seem well written to me.

Still wondering about finding plastic and rubber for the smokey fire? I know there is a lot of trash out there, but didn't it say "wilderness survival situation"? Where we normally hunt elk, there isn't much for rubber or plastic to burn.

As someone trained by the Military in Woodland Survival, I can say factually that several of these questions have inaccurate (or at the very least, debatable) answers. Many of the questions are dependent on your individual skill level and knowledge. For example:

    Q. Which type of items would be the most valuable to have in a Bug Out Bag?
    A. Definitely tools. I can build any shelter if I have the tools I need.

I take issue with this one:
    Q. If you are bitten on the ankle by a rattlesnake, what's the best course of action?
    A. Torniquet and keep your heart rate down. Applying pressure to the wound will not keep the venom from spreading.

Lighters run out of fuel and don't work if its rainy or windy. Flint and Steel will always work.

Honestly, if you are trying to start a friction fire, you should have planned better. Swedish firesteel, flint and steel, even a lighter....

Anyway, everyone likes quizzes I guess...
