From what I read, it was started under the Clinton presidency. Is this incorrect?

Either way, it doesn't matter. What matters is the perception of the current low-income voting block. These folks are sold on the belief that good old barry gave them their phone qand other bennies. If the danged thing had been handed to them by GW2 himself they'd STILL believe it came from good old Barry. Remember, it's the government (headed by Barry) that is paying for all of their free stuff, not the American taxpayer.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking- it doesn't matter who started what, anything good (for these cretins) comes from Obama, but anything bad has got to be Bush's fault.

You know after an evenings thought on this, between this and Howard Sterns radio interview of potential voters I cannot think of a more compelling argument for the abolishment of the Electoral College.

To add, how about a current basic knowledge test to be able to vote?

I am thinking along the lines of a minimum of a high school education or a GED equivalent in order to vote.

I would like to go back to landowners being able to vote. It would put the huge city (typically democrat voters) people out of the voting booth.

Anyone on any type of government assistance (other than SS, medicare, VA, or .gov retirement etc.) (I'm talking food stamps, section 8 housing, medicaid, free cell phones etc), is not allowed to vote in any election. It is a conflict of interest.

Just those put in place would turn this country around in a heartbeat.

I like this idea... My old man said something pretty prolific the other day (and it's true)- I'm part of that 47% Romney talked about, because about 35% of my income is from the VA. Now does this mean I think he doesn't care about me? No... Because I'm a veteran and I know for a fact Obama doesn't give a flying leap about me and my brothers and sisters in arms.
