    Default Shooting Trip

Hey everyone, I went on a little shooting trip between Idaho Springs and Alice up in the mountains yesterday. As I left with the people that came with me, we noticed two other shooting sites that were all trashed up. People just left their used targets and such. Also, I noticed another group setting up on a clearly marked "No trespassing/Private Driveway" area. Not sure if they owned that area or had permission, I didn't ask.

I am just hoping that everyone here is cleaning up after themselves and following the rules of property ownership in the mountains.

Too many morons out there trying to get more land revoked for shooting use. So if it wasn't anyone here please tell all your friends to pick up after themselves when shooting.

Great post. I'd say this needs to apply to all of the public shooting sites many of us here use.

We go to Pawnee to shoot almost exclusively, and the abuse we see is regular. It blows my mind to drive down 96 to our favorite spot and pass "No Shooting" signs with bullet holes in them, cars parked with people shooting directly behind signs indicating private property, and trash blowing everywhere. We always take extra trash bags to clean up after the morons who can't be bothered to. It is only a matter of time before these areas aren't available to us because we couldn't keep from destroying it.

    Default Property Damage

I went to look at some real estate in the mountains. I was put off buying it because some shooters had shot away half of a power pole. Another power pole was spliced to it to keep it from falling over. I wanted the property to keep horses. Irresponsible shooters screwing up one of my dreams. I could spend weeks there cleaning up brass, shotgun shells and trash. Rant over.

I hate how people leave trash. I think they believe they are leaving "targets" for other people or something along those lines.

I brought back a whole bunch from my hunting area. people left 2x4 frames, used targets, bottles, cans, etc....

What really pisses me off is there is a nice public range not far away and they have dumpsters
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

I pretty much figure every time I go to the mountains now that I'll be bringing back a truck load of trash.

I generally bring back more trash that I bring in for sure. I clean up the area that I am shooting in, which includes the crap that was there when I got there.

Last time I went up to Squaw Pass it was a dump! At the objection of the people I went with I, single handedly picked up more crap than we had brought- my brother and his lazy ass friends refused to help and complained that I was picking up a bit... Really?

Having to clean up after others and having to be around strangers who may or may not have any skills or safe practices, are biggest reasons I pay dues and belong to a private range.

I live & shoot in the Idaho Springs area and thank those of you who do make it cleaner than you found it. I typically take 3-4 trash bags/cans (I will usually only need one for my trash) and will end up filling all + some and have to pay to dispose of it. We did a big clean on an area we frequesnt and the next time we were there (over a month later) I was THRILLED to see it actually cleaner than we had gotten it. Thanks again guys, it is nice to have those of you who clean up when you come up here (0r anywhere really)!!!!
