Default 1 month till pheasant season!

It is 1 month until pheasant season opens up!

I haven't heard great things from the farmers whose land I hunt on, so I am not sure if this will be a good season or not.

Supposedly South Dakota is having a great year, birds will be near water but due to the mild winter the hatch was awesome

I fear Colorado will be terrible this year because of the dammed drought. I am hoping for the best, but think it will be crappy this year in Colorado. I will still go out and hunt them tho.

yep I'll definitely be out there, but if it is crappy I won't be going every week like I did last year. Maybe I'll set up a SD hunt for 5 days as that would be an almost sure bet to limit out every day!

I stopped listening to the reports of how the season will be because it was never accurate for me. I seemed to have better luck when they said it was going to be a crappy year. I'll be out and about slinging lead as usual though.

I'm afraid it might be a rough year. My brother has been doing some swathing and said he hasn't hardly seen any, even in our "honey holes." I've only seen chicks from one hatch this year so far. Just too darn hot and dry this summer. However, I'll still be out looking for them as well.

I live in Akron but my brother farms with my parents in Haxtun which is where we do all of our hunting. My dad and brother farm quite a bit of ground so I'm lucky to always have hunting partners and lots of private land to hunt!
