Was anyone really surprised to hear that? We've all known O would push that position in a second term. That's been expected for a long time.

I'm sorry but pardon my ignorance. I was just a wee chitlin when the previous AWB was passed. Did Clinton just instate it, or did it have to be voted on by congress?

Yes, I was honestly surprised to hear him actually say it. I know he has never believed the sheeple need to own guns but never thought he would come out and say anything before the election.

Executive Orders. then congress has to undo them. obama believes he is above the law. look at F&F, look at his quest to get rid of Bushs 11th hour of letting concealed carry in national parks. he finally had to accept it.

this could end up the same case for Romney, maybe...maybe not. give him 4 more years to figure it out and it is a pretty damn good possibility.

    It was passed by Congress.
But this administration has made it VERY clear that Congress is an impediment to their agenda.

NRA will be all over this as well. definitely just increased their membership and donations.

If it gets brought up seriously again...I can think it may have very well sealed obamas fate of losing.

Thanks for the knowledge. I think I'm gonna be proactive and just sell my firearms now.

I'm not surprised. He realizes people who understand the need for the right of the citizens to arm themselves would never vote for him anyways. In other words, he knew he wouldn't be losing any votes by making the statement. One of those "nothing to lose, everything to gain" kind of things.
