Heller really makes it difficult to LAWFULLY ban a "class" of firearm.

PROVIDING he does not get re elected. Stacking the SCOTUS in his favor would negate any gains. Just keep voting your conscious people, vote your conscious.

Agreed, potential replacement of SCOTUS Judges is in fact the most compelling reason for Romney to be elected. The rest of the reasons are negotiable as they are dynamic and change on a daily basis.
SCOTUS is long term and has more effect on the nation than what bobble head is sitting at a desk any given 4 years.

Yes, this scares me... What happens when all of those vital 2A decisions get overturned? If Obamageddon get's reelected I feel like I'm going to be saying Molon Labe a lot more often.

    Key word is "lawfully"

In any case, they don't have to activate an outright ban on anything... just make it harder to get. Registrations, tracking, serial numbers, fees, taxes, background checks, foreground checks, etc.... you get the idea.

And they COULD tax the hell out of ammo and components and just let us keep our firearms. 2A covers the firearms but NOT the ammo - right? .

This is the crux of the subject - we all know just how much this administration relies on "Regulation". It is very possible to regulate something into the realm of "Unobtainium"

How does the government regulate tobacco? $1.00 of federal taxes and an average state tax of $1.55 per pack.

The real question is "When will the ammo tax take effect?"

    The answer is, Who cares!
OR as the spousal unit says. Without ammo all you have is an expensive boat paddle.

I seem to remember some promises given by this very politician this time 4 years ago in order to get elected the first time: Closing Gitmo, Allowing the Patriot Act to sunset, Repeal Bush Tax cuts, Create a foreclosure prevention fund for homeowners, allow imported prescription drugs, sign the freedom of choice act & introduce a comprehensiveness immigration bill the first year. I could go on and believe me, there are PAGES of this crap but I think the point is made. This AWB wasn't even a promise and we've seen his track record for keeping promises.
