Default At the shooting range today

No wind, warm, calm, and then it happened<< I jerked "flinched" the trigger and again and again,,,,,,, what the funonion, I feel all most dirty admitting it. The worst part is these rifle's don't kick 300 winni ,300rum with brakes. So I tested no bullet in the gun pulled the trigger no flinching. I put the bullet in the gun and the cross hairs freakn start dancing wow .I have loaded some more round's and I'm stepping out the door to try it again after lunch>>>>> The moral to this story I may be jerkin off at the range. While the rest of you are freakin at work But does any body have advice? On braking the habit of flinching or just plain jerking the trigger.

Light a fire for a man, and he'll be warm for a day, light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life...

the link is from a pistol site, but it works great on rifle too.

    This.

Get a couple of snap caps in your favorite caliber. Have someone else load your magazines while you load theirs. You should have the same break on the trigger regardless of live vs dummy round. Some movement of the front sight is natural, so don't force the shot.

The other benefit to ball and dummy is you get good practice on clearing a bad round. Anyone who has never had a bad round hasn't shot enough.

IMO, consistency is the gold standard of shooting.

    Be safe.

We do this all the time at the range. Not so much for jerking off, but to be surprised when something isn't working. But I can totally see it working for jerking the trigger!
