Reviving a zombie thread because it's health insurance enrollment time again.

New employer since the OP. Much bigger company. But guess what, my 2013 health insurance premiums went up again. $1,300 more than the same insurance for 2012. Not only that, out-of-pocket maximums and deductibles went up too.

And pre-tax FSA maximum contributions have been reduced. (What's that you say? Obama told us no tax increases for the middle class?) Well, we use our FSA so that decrease in the pre-tax contributions is basically a $400 tax increase on my family.

Since ObamaCare passed, my insurance premiums have gone up about $7,300. They rarely went up by much each year before that.

Luckily this time my employer is covering about 75% of the premium increase unlike the increases from 2010 to 11 and 2011 to 12 which hit me directly. We'll still get hit with the increased deductibles, etc.

So consider this a big THANK YOU Obama for lowering health care costs in our country! It's sure helping my family.

Can't wait until you are gone at the end of the year.

^^ You must be mistaken. Healthcare costs are going to be lower with Obamacare. [/sarcasm]

That's going to become one of the BIG lies...along the lines of, "The check is in the mail."

I sure hope Mitt follows through on day 1 with starting the repeal of obamacare.

Honestly, I don't think the coverage is going to get better AND the premiums will go down....the insurance companies are getting their money, they got people and companies by the nuts. The thing we can hope for is relaxed regulations and laws creating more competition and lower prices.

    FUBO.

Nope, insurance costs won't go down with a repeal. The damage is done. All I can hope for is that they increase pre-tax health care savings to offset some of the out-of-pocket costs.

No kidding. My employer is about as generous as they come, and they're covering 75% of our premiums as well. After another year working here, they'll cover 90% for me, but that only comes from being with the company for so long. Regardless of their generosity, I still have to pay $140.50 per month. That means my actual premiums are $562 per month, up from $96 per month in 2006, when I moved to CO. Granted my insurance company and policy has changed since then, my copays, out of pocket maximums, and the things that I actually remember, are all the same. This is ridiculous.

    Exactly right.

I am paying $7300 more for premiums in 3 years (not to mention thousands more in increased deductibles and co insurance) just to make it cheaper for others to get insurance/care. BS.
