All great ideas everyone. I'll shop around at the bike shops and look into the snap bands, I'm liking the easy on and off capabilities.

LED blinking lights are good too. I see a bicyclist each morning that has a headlight that blinks High and low, which seems to work well. Not sure I want a headlight though. lol.

Glowsticks I carry in my pack, but I don't want to spend that money every few days if I can't turn them off.

I'll let you know what I come up with and hopefully post an example using it.

I always carry my Nebo 220 lumen flashlight with me when I run. I often cross some busy streets and I nearly always run after dark when at home. When I have to cross a busy street, I pull out the light and put it on strobe and point it in the direction the traffic is usually coming. Then I turn it off when I get across the street.

I do a similar thing with the kids out trick-or-treating. (and other times) I do need a flashlight in my pack, but haven't spent the money yet. I carry a small streamlight in my pocket all day. I guess I'm looking for more hands free, like the slap bands or whatever they are. LED strap types light I can turn on when I start walking and off when I'm home.

See how shopping goes this weekend for various devices.

I just picked up the AA and AAA size of these - they work exceptionally well:

Yep, My kids had a similar device from home depot a few years back. It worked well, but I think I've found some more visible items.

So I went shopping around. Ended up with the following two items:

Slap Band and Leg Pant Straps - both from a company called Nathan.

I'll use the bands on legs/arms etc. Some experimenting needed.

    Basic indoor lighting:

    With flash just for fun.

I also saw some great products at the bike shop. I'll probably pick up a mult-angle red strobe light. Super Bright, run time is decent on a couple AAA's.
