Yep. Cost of everything will go up. I fully expect gasoline to top $5 a gallon by middle of next summer. You can also expect to pay more in taxes over the net several years too. Unemployment rates will hit a new all-time high as well.

Put me on the record as saying it now: You are partly wrong. Costs are not going up. If anything, they are going down. Here's the kicker: The US Dollar's value is plummeting - and it needs to. Several economists have proposed that the only way the United States could pay off the federal debt is to devalue the dollar until we have printed enough money to pay off our debt.

Thankfully, I think the manufacturing capacity has been increased dramatically thanks to the major increase in $$ firearms manufactures have seen in the last 4 years. However, I do expect some panic buying to set in again.

I think you're right about this: the manufacturing base and supply chains are much more fortified than they were 4 years ago. Production of AR-15 parts and accessories is easily 5x more than it was in 2008. Look at the number of Pmags available now and how the prices have dropped over the past year. Windowed PMags used to be $20 each, now you can find them for as low as $12 each. Palmetto State Armory has been growing explosively and most companies have been able to keep most things in stock lately.

Will we see another AWB? Yes, but not an outright ban. I think it will involve more taxes, licenses, more invasive background checks, medical records checks, no private party transfers, etc, etc. They will just make it awfully hard/expensive to be firearms owners. Then they can say "Hey, we didn't ban anything! You can still own them, but we just want to make sure you're SAFE."

I also think you hit the nail right on the head with this one. In Chicago last year, the only thing that prevented a local $.05/rd tax was the fact that some ammo (such as .22LR) costs less than $.05/rd to begin with. This was the first attempt of many, and this threat will not be going away.

Same for other stores i have called. Normal day with a slight up tic for purchases.
Outside of available funds at what point in time did you realize you needed to "Stock UP" on guns and ammo??? The mad rush to spend money when hopefully you have been prepared is amazing.

Unfortunately for me, this time of year is when I have money to spend on stuff like this. Not good timing. But just because I have firearm funds now doesn't mean I will be buying anything at gouging rates. I don't need anything...just want. My money will stay in my pocket if/when prices get stupid.
