    Default Building a Parts Kit

So I moved before I could attend a build party and sadly we dont have any cool people here in Vegas that know how to build an AK so im gunna do it on my own. So I got this Egyptain Maadi AKMS kit, would it be easier to bend a flat or get an 80% and finish it. Thats really my first question. Ill have more later im sure.

If its your first build, I would highly suggest a Nodak. I would recommend a NON blem receiver but its your money.

The Nodaks go together very well.

When you build one off of a flat it is a lot more time, fitting, filing, heat treating, welding, and drilling. If your mechanically inclined and have the $$$ to buy the tools then go for it. To build from a flat , your probably gonna need about $300 worth of tooling MINIMUM not to mention a mapp gas torch for heat treating, drill bits, drill press etc.

True Dat. 5 minute timer, GO!

RR was not available that time. Either way IF you have a bbl AK kit where everything is ready to go. Correct gas port drilled, blocks, sights, trunnion head spaced it's very interesting how quickly one can be done (for personal use) and not resale.
Bending a flat is ok, BUT, spot weld rails, heat treat H &T holes and ejector rail, etc. Great for some, for me i like / prefer the NDS receivers.

Should I get this one "Model NDS-1KP with plate" because of the side folder? There is a guy in town that has AK receiver but its without the pistol grip reinforcement more like their EZ model.

I'm not sure how those Egyptian sidefolders are. I would call Nodak and ask them. I'm thinking it might just be a normal AKM pattern reciever but verify on your own.

Maadi side folders are the same as early East German, same as regular East German as well, they take a normal akm receiver with a fixed stock trunnion the reinforced pgrip is only for ak's-74 and akms (polish and Russian underfokder)
