    Default First Browning Hi-Power

Picked up this Hi Power on a trade with Rooterbegger. I've known of Hi Powers, may have actually handled one but this is the first one I have actually owned.

Serial number 69C78XX gives it a date of manufacture in 1969, just after they transistioned out of the T series (my luck isn't that good). What is unique about it is that it comes with the original owner's manual, that the original owner completed with date of purchase (May 1970), amount he paid ($121.00), three magazines and what I understand was the original pouch/bag that came with the pistol.

Condition is exceptional with no apparent bluing wear with very limited evidence that it has been fired much.

Not sure what I'm going to do with this one. I'm not much for look at weapons but it has some very distinctive lines that are appealing.

For now, here are some pictures

Nice looking pistol. They've always felt just right when I've shot them.

It does fit nicely in the hand. Didn't take long to make up my mind once I saw pictures. With the accessories, it puts it in to the quasi-collectible category, even though it isn't a T-series. That said, I'm going to have to shoot it at least once before I decide what I do next.

That's a good one.Not that it needs any but power custom makes parts.

Definitely a looker, but sights remind me of the original 1911 iron sights in WWI. To mess with it wouldn't be right, but look at weapons don't last long in my safe.

I love the BHP. I had on in my safe for several years while I tried to decide if I wanted to sell it or get it worked on so it shot to my satisfaction. I eventually sent it off to Novak.
