    USS Obama...you know it's coming.

    Glad to see the name of one of the most fearsome ships in the history of the sea will live on. Anyone know when the keel will be laid? With our financial situation, I'm guessing it'll be a while.

    Spent some time on her in the early 80s. Worked as a design engineer for Hughes Aircraft Co - tactical displays. Very impressive ship, and for quite awhile, fastest in the fleet.

    Doing a bit of research ...

    The FORD Keel was laid down in 09 and is expected to launch in 15 .. so by that math ( since they are the same class) 2019 is when the Keel should be laid for Enterprise.
