Anybody seen The Hobbit yet? I watched it at a matinee yesterday. I'm a huge Tolkien fan and really enjoyed all the Peter Jackson movies, including this one. I was stoked about a movie that focuses more on the dwarfs of Middle Earth, rather than some of it's larger creatures. The movie started off a little slow, but the action picked up, and the scenery didn't fail to please. I like how they added some of the "assumed sub-plots" that weren't really in the book. Now another year until part deux...

I'd probably give it a 9/10 just because the sounds was a bit off in the theater. It may have been the spot I was sitting, but certain dialogues were a little hard to hear. Bubba next to me, slurppin on his big gulp and nachos, probably didn't help much.

It was the standard version, not the iMax or 3D. I heard the 3D version was making people nauseous.

I can't do 3D, it gives me a headache... I can't wait to see this movie- I just need to set aside 3 1/2 hours to go watch it... Where does one find that kind of time when Christmas is near?

In other news, the Les Misarables remake looks awful... Then again, most musicals (with the exception of anything South Park- or by those guys- and the Producers) are awful.
