We seem to forget our history-

IN 1997, three years after the AWB took effect, the LA bank robbery/shootout happened, with the criminals using ACTUAL full auto assault weapons. The police were so outgunned that they had to turn to SPORTING GOODS stores to go buy some AR-15 semi-auto rifles, high- cap magazines, and thank GOD they were in stock, ready for immediate delivery. Had those rifles been banned many more police officers would have lost their lives along with potential citizen casualties.

There has been a rise in mass shootings because the perpetrators specifically target GUN FREE ZONES- where they know it is unlikely there will not be any firearms. Shopping malls, schools, churches, sporting events, theatres. All public gathering places and many of which prohibit firearms. We now know Holmes drove past at least one other theatre where there was armed security to the Aurora theatre where there was no armed security (which for that theater was typically off-duty law enforcement) at that midnight showing. Even then, he was diabolical enough to leave his weapons outside in case there WAS an armed guard in the lobby who might have noticed he was carrying. As soon as an armed respondent was on scene he gave up. Same with this Connecticut whacko, as soon as police arrived, he ate a bullet. Same with the mall shooter, as soon as he saw a gun pointed in his direction from a CCW holder, sat down and had a lead lunch.

Fear of armed response is what PREVENTS these actions, and the more we disarm society, the worse its going to get.

Banning weapons does no good for anyone.
