    Default furnace help needed!

Lennox g24m. Has a sticker inside that says it been upgraded with some electric start something? I am getting ready to tear into it now, I would prefer to pay someone but with the holidays etc I am short on cash.

I set the t-stat to 72, the heater will come on and run for 15 minutes or so then shut off and its only 61 or so in the house. Turn the t-stat off then on it will come on again and do the same thing but still won't warm it up. I replaced the t-stat thinking that was it but its still the same. When the heater blows it blows warm air, so why can't I get the house warmed up?

Hard to diagnose from a distance but it sounds like it's going off on one of the limit switches. Is the filter clean with good airflow? Also check the flame rollout switch. It's sounds like something that auto resets. Hope this helps some......good luck.

When I popped the cover off one led was on and the other was flashing indicating "limit switch open" according to the sticker. I flipped the t-stat I'm and both lights flashed and I got flames it ran for a few minutes then the flames went out then came back on. So is the limit switch bad and would that cause it to never get up to temp?

that does help it appears that the filter I put in this summer was plugged. I pulled the filter out and its been running since and is up to a scorching 68 degrees which is the warmest my house has been in a month haha! Thanks, since I had replaced it so recently I never thought about that but its plugged solid!

So when it says '1 month' or '3 month' on the filter.. that wasn't an indication..

Thats also misleading. That is the max life. So if ou have a dirty house, leave the windows open, pets, duct work in and attic or crawl space, loose construction house etc they don't last as long.

Do you have central air conditioning? If so having a dirt filter can cause the coil to gt dirty causing issues as well.

Folks - PSA!!!! If you use a $5 filter or less and change it monthly, it will more than save you that on your utility bill.
