    Default Arapahoe county CCW process

Hi guys I was wondering if anyone out there could help me out with a few things to help point me in the right direction? I live in Aurora in Arapahoe county and was looking to do my CCW classes and permit and was wondering if anyone out there knew the best way to get the proper training and certification. Like most people, I am pretty tight on funds and was wanting to get the training and certification at a reasonable rate. I have looked around at some different classes that are offered and am a little confused. Some offer a certificate and some do not. Was wondering if anybody on this site could point me in the right direction or could possibly help me with the training or certification. And is the certificate the same thing as the CCW permit? Thanks and help would be greatly appreciated.

Light a fire for a man, and he'll be warm for a day, light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life...

Go to the first sticky of this section and read it concerning training classes.
Then decide what kind of training you really need. If you are highly experienced and have had other firearms training, one of the cheap "Coffee & Donuts" class to satisfy the requirements. But if you are a NOOB to firearms, go for a real class and learn something for your money.

No, the certificate is not the same as the Permit, but is required to apply for a Permit.

Go to Sportsmans warehouse this Friday and take the CCW class. They go over submitting your application to the Arapahoe county Sheriff. After you take the class you will need to fill out the application from the Arapahoe county Sheriff but dont sign the application. Bring your ID and training certificate and your application to the Sheriff, they will make you sign it and take your money and picture. Then they will call you in 90 days. The cost is $152, but you need to write two separate checks. The information is on the Arapahoe county Sheriffs website. pretty simple really. But first you need to take a class and get a training certification.

There's a guy who does them for $59 through Groupon. His classes are booked solid so be prepared to wait about 8 weeks from the time you purchase to the time a class has an opening.
