The way their stock price has declined recently, they could use the business.

The current 4006 is very reliable. I'm not aware of the politics with S&W but as a user I am very impressed with the quality. My SIG has failed a few times where my 4006 with more rounds fired has never failed...
I can't wait for a new M&P.
I imagine the deal was pennies on the dollar.
Either way, I wish I was getting a new gun.
Pennies on the dollar? I am thinking unless they are gouging the Troopers it would be more like a straight across trade. Like leaving the patrol only to buy Holsters.
Average retail right now is 480 - 500 for the new MP.
So say the are charging the Trooper 435.30 for the old 4006, I bet the Patrol is getting pretty close to that deal on the new M&P's
I'm not going to blame the current ownership for the sins of the former British owners who drove the company into the ground. Hell, SWHC is publicly traded these days.
The M&P is a very nice series of pistols and is on my short list for if I ever have a disposable income again.
I am very happy to see the business going to an American company instead of Glock.

And now CSPD is talking about dumping the guns they just got. The S&W M&P that is. Sounds like more political wrangling then real operational issues.
I didnt know CSPD was carrying the M&P. I would be interested in finding out why they are getting rid of them.
