    My solution is for more good people to have guns, and just shoot the bad guys when they do bad things.

    The whole "death penalty as a deterrent" thing has been junked many times.

    I'm mildly anti-death penalty, mainly because I don't trust the govt to give a man a fair shake in the DMV line, let alone in court, and so would prefer that things be reversible.

    I am totally okay with the victim ending things permanently, though. In fact I generally think that's the best-case scenario.

    22 cal is still cheaper, and much cheaper than the $$$ we are dropping on him going to and from the jail, his food, cloths, doctors, and who knows what else he gets

    An "appeal" is where an appellate court is asked to decide whether the trial court actually followed the law. You want that taken away?

    And also, remember, Illinois had the death penalty for a long time, which they used a lot more often than Colorado. However, neither Chicago nor East St. Louis have especially safe cities to live in.
