May not be a apples to apples comparrison but they still have the potential to get stuck with hundreds of thousand of dollars of inventory that they will not be allowed to sell. I guess my thought was if you are a manufacturer do you spend thousands of $ cranking out something that is likely to get mbanned or do you slow roll it until the final verdict comes out? Could make the difference on whether a business survives or not?

Walmart orders ammo to stock it, which isn't sold until someone comes in. If they took backorders for ammo and then stopped ordering it, there'd be major backlash, kind of like with Dick's Sporting Goods and the Troy Carbines.

if magpul mags get banned it's not like they couldn't sell them elsewhere, they fill contracts for militaries all over the world. as for walmart what would they do with their inventory that they couldn't sell?

last time I was in the local walmart they weren't having any problem at all moving ammo. The only thing I saw were some shotgun shells, and about 20 boxes of various hunting rounds (.243, 30-06, 25-06 etc.). All of their pistol ammo was gone, all .308 and .223 gone. Pretty sure if they got it in, they could move it.

not to mention some of the most common ammunition in the world is .223/.308

Fuck that. At the rate we are selling the would never get caught holding the check. Complete chicken shit move. The one thing I know about Walmart is they will buckle to customer response. Call and email corporate a lot.

While I wouldn't put ANYTHING past this joke of an administration we have, where would Wal-Mart have gotten the idea that they may not be able to sell ammo in the future? I'd like to think I keep myself well informed on current issues, but did I miss something in regards to potential legislation? I realize an AWB, mag cap, and possibly online ammo sells to private parties may be an issue, but none of that has anything to do with Wal-Mart buying or selling ammo.

Didn't a Wal Mart rep meet with Obama last week? Maybe he got a enough info to make him think they might not be able to sell ammo any more?

or that it would become cost prohibitive to sell it

There's a bill floating around about ammo sale background checks. Don't know it's status though.

BTW. Corporate.walmart.com/contact-us. The email contact point for these douche bags. Their asses clench when they get a lot of emails saying a customer won't shop there anymore.

It's my understanding Walmart doesn't pay for it's inventory tell it sells. (consignment) They can stock there store with what ever and return it to the manufacture when ever they want. They just sell merchandise for the manufacturer they don't own it. If they don't sell ammo it's because they don't want too.
