Default Anyone interested in doing the 24hour Snipers Challenge?

I want to do the 24 hour Snipers CHallenge in New Mexico in July but need a partner for the event, preferably for the Precision/Long Range shooter. If you havent heard about this info can be found here http://competition-dynamics.com/ . So if you think you wouldnt mind a very long difficult hike in terrible terrain with some shooting along the way then lets talk!

Yes even with zero long range experience. If love to do it but with no experience, maybe next year if I had the time, $$$ and expertise to train up.

JM ver. 2.0 says that he'll do the challenge with you if he can use your guns - he doesn't have any.

Damn... this sounds extremely fun... this is something I would like to try and do, but there are many required skills on this that I don't have... sh*t, I even get lost downtown.
I would like to think I can shoot, but I saw the "advance" endurance... man.. I only wish I could....

Very cool, keep me in the loop! Have had some interest but no commitments as of yet, so still open.

Man I hope so. I have read pretty much everything that was written about last years event, and it sounds like a good time with a lot of tough terrain and conditions thrown in. Its beena very long time since I pushed myself much at all, so I am pretty determined to put this one in the books.

Physically I am about 20lbs overweight myself, and my endurance is not where it needs to be. I started training a few weeks ago and despite still being stiff the next morning the old body is responding well enough that barring injury or external intervention the endurance and strength will be where they need to be. My "day job" requires a specific mentality that quickly removes quitters, as a perfect day at the track can quickly turn into an all-night thrash, and no matter how tired, sore, hungry, hot, or cold you are you just cant quit or give up, because all the time, energy, and money spent to get you that far will be thrown away. I just never quit. I also ignore a lot of pain. In last Saturdays rimfire match I managed to stab a metal staple deep into my trigger finger at the second stage, ignored it shot the rest of the match.

I am also brutally honest with myself and everyone around me, so believe me when I say that I am not the guy who needs to be on the long-range gun. It has been literally 10 years since I shot out past 700 yards, and I have NEVER shot my current .308 out that far. It is possible that I could set up another gun and practice up and feel competent in time for the competition , but I already have a lot on my plate.

Last thing is it would be great to get a partner early so as to have some opportunity to train together and ensure there is the ability to work together.

Should set up some sort of try outs for this...

    Here's my little resume:

I've shot out to a thousand yards on regular up at Pawnee with my .308.. farthest I've hit was about 1400 yards... and tried stretching it out to a mile, but ended up putting expensive holes on the ground.
Shooting inside 800 yards is not exactly a breeze but is a lot easier for me.

My endurance level is up there... but I don't have the endurance of a horse or semi-pro athlete. I am capable of staying on my feet for long periods and can carry sh*t around. I have a mind set of finishing what is started even though it takes longer than planned... it will be done.

I lack the navigation experience, field crafting, and the knowledge of'em sniping gadgetry (ballistic calculators, kestrals, etc..)...

I'm up for a try out if there would be any... Pawnee is a spot I do all/most of my shooting. Let me know...

I warned him about boating on Dillon Reservoir, the wind makes for some choppy waters and it's real easy to have a horrible boating accident.
