I have 2 theories on this-
1- He's not as good as he claimed or thought, and he died inside the cabin.
2- He is as good as he claimed, didn't hold up in a cabin but somehow got away and will continue with his vendetta.
Only time will tell...

Doesn't really matter how good you are when you are holed up in a chinsy wooden cabin surrounded by well-armed and pissed off LE.
Police ID/badge found at bus station or wherever and California DL found in cabin.
#1 is the correct answer! You tinfoil hat people that come up with all this other nonsense make me laughOf course nothing could be as it appears, that would be to simple and then what would you have to fantisize about? I wonder if Bush ordered the Twin Towers to be blown up? Or was it Jimmy Hoffa who is still alive?

I'd say that scenario was a possibility. However, from what I've heard, witnesses (in addition to the LE folks) said they heard the single gunshot. Then the fire. If he wasn't in the cabin why would a hostage not give up or fire a shot? That doesn't make sense.
I think it was Dorner. I've also seen incredible bits and pieces of people's lives survive house fires. So if the DL was in his wallet with his body on top of it I'd say it's definitely possible it survived the fire.
