Might be he is a seller on ebay that does not maintain inventory.
A lot of regular ebay sellers have the item drop-shipped from a wholesaler or manufacturer after the ebay sale is completed.
He has over 29,000 Feedbacks and is an ebay store, so I am guessing he does not keep inventory.

Then why would he say he only has 8 of them? And why is his inventory limited to X number of items? This, to me, is like selling Avon or Amway on eBay and telling your neighbor you can't sell to them, that they have to order through your eBay "store" or eBay will get pissed.

A transaction is between a seller and a buyer. You have something to sell, someone wants to buy it, then sell it to them! Letting 3rd and 4th parties like eBay and PayPal make the rules of how you do business with other people is fucking insane, IMO. If my neighbor sells NcStar scopes and stuff on Ebay, keeps an inventory on shelves in his garage or basement so he can ship from there, and won't let me come over and buy one from him, does that make any sense?

Fuck him, I wouldn't take one now if it were free.

Get real dude. He is running a business- he could have eight or 80. It's not the only thing he's selling. He should take time out of his day and drive somewhere to deliver a $9.00 item because it's convenient for you and you save $3.00 in shipping?

No, I offered to go to HIM. If he's running a business, then he should be willing to DO business, and not by hiding on the internet doing it. If someone local wants to come to your door to buy something you're offering from you, what the fuck is wrong with that? And it's not about the shipping, it's about using PayPal, which I refuse to do.

+1 amazon prime.. Shipping can be real expensive with out it. Btw if you are willing to pay local brick and mortar pricing, then by all mean go to your local store. The reason folks sell online because they have it semi if not all automated. Drop ship + PayPal saves tons of overhead. If I have an online store, I wouldn't want to meet anyone local let alone having my online store doing business with local coloradoans .. Don't want to get caught by Colorado revenue for not charging tax on online transaction. CO is going full libtard.

I had an amazon seller acct til CO passed that tax code
