First off, To those of You who voted third party too "Make a statement" how's it feeling?

Since I voted McCain, it feels like I wasted my vote.

However, I just checked some results from the Post and if the 34,000 third party voters were all to have voted Republican, we still would have been 107,000 votes short. Maybe the Posts numbers are off or my math sucks, but it looks to me like they have nothing to be ashamed of.

Don't sell Obama-Biden short; they'll easily be more corrupt, inept and scandal-ridden than any administration in the history of the country. It might be tough to get at the "scandals" though with the entire fourth estate shilling for them...

They are already here. As of October 1st, 12,000 American troops were brought back from Iraq and stationed in the US. As of this time, I don't remember where. But, I got to read an email from a friend who is on a military email list of some type. It was talking about how they were being stationed in the US to protect us from terrorists and drug dealers. What I want to know is if we are going to be considered terrorists in the future for claiming our 2nd Amendment rights.

I'm astonished at how lazy people have become, how they look to a leader to be their savior and have such ignorant mindsets.

I'm getting stressed sitting here thinking about this.

They came back from Iraq and instead of going back to their original bases, homes and families, they have gone off to a super-duper-secret ninja-training base to learn how to fly black helicopters and steal your thoughts.

I'd like to blame all the conservatives that bashed McCain over the past year or so, Rush and Anne & etc, but I'm afraid the truth is that there were quite a few people that would have voted for anyone with a (D). It would have taken a Reagan to pull this one out. I don't know if they actually did it, but I know several life long Republicans that threatened to stay home or vote Boston Tea Party rather than McCain. With people like that undermining the campaign...

This should have been an election with a record turnout, but I don't think it was (I could be wrong). I'm sure every liberal made it to the polls, but I suspect far too many conservatives stayed home.

Then again, my second point counters my first. Either McCain never had a chance or apathetic conservatives gave it away... Even for a software engineer I make a pretty lousy political scientist.

This is the first time I've voted for a major party candidate since 1988 tho. And it kind of angers me that it was a total waste of effort. I just can't figure out who to be angry at. The hippies, I suppose.

Has anybody else got a visit from an LEO today? I been home all day, and an LEO came beating on the door saying someone capped off a shotgun round and took out a pigeon. I never heard the kaboom. Just feeling freaked that all of a sudden, we get a new head honcho, and I feel like I been gun checked. I live in a real quiet neighborhood in the eastern part of the springs. Anybody got a scanner or a way to find out if there was a 911 call? I had nothing to hide, and told the LEO so as I left him sniff my grandpa's 12 ga Crescent SXS. Hell, I bet it hasn't been shot for ten years, but it still gets a yearly cleaning. Thank the Lord it still had that just cleaned smell, because it's about half way till gun cleaning season again. Anyway, for all our sakes, I hope I just got the freshly elected democrat jitters. Somebody, please soothe my instincts, and tell me my mind is just wandering.
