This is our Havoc. He looks sweet and innocent, but he is plotting what to get into next.
The photo doesn't do his coloring justice, and his eyes truly are a bright gooseberry green shade. He just doesn't often hold still long enough for a good picture.
Thanks, Grey. Havoc is a handsome fella. And you can definitely see the devil in his eyes in that pic.

Do you have a picture of your Mau you can share? We got a kitten last year that has a lot of the Mau traits but is a classic tabby and his eyes are a mix of copper and green instead of green. The people we got it from rescued the litter but never saw the mother. Our vet took one look at him and knew he wasn't your average tabby...not too many classic tabbies running around that are charcoal, black and grey. He thought he was at least part Mau. Anyhoo...I thought you could enlighten us since you have a Mau. Here's our Fearghal:

Fearghal is really handsome interesting with those camoflaged stripes. He's got features that could very well be Mau...but then again, his head has angles that put me in mind of the Oriental breeds. Is he fully grown yet? Until he is, it's hard to tell what he could be mixed with. Like all animals that are teens, they tend to be all gangles until they fill out.

Thanks, Grey. Everyone who meets him says they've never seen a cat with a color and pattern like his (this includes my vet and all of his employees) so we figured he was different. I've had dozens of cats in my life and I've never seen one like him until I did a search for "smoke tabby" on the web since a lot of what appears to be black in his pics is more of a dark charcoal grey.

He's got a lot of traits that I read belong to Maus. He doesn't meow except on rare occasion but he chirps a lot. We have a cat locked in a bathroom and the first thing he does everyday is get up and walk to the door and chirp at her for a good ten minutes. He's got a constant look of worry on his face due in part to his eyebrows. He's an expressive tail twitcher. He really likes people but he checks them out for awhile before he throws himself at them. I'm half tempted to shave him bald to see if his pattern exists on his skin since I hear that's a fairly good sign

He's 11 months old next week and he weighs 11 lbs now. He hasn't gained any size (length or height) in a couple of months, and has only gained 1 lb. in that time, so we think he's about done growing.

I guess it's curiosity more than anything because he's just Fearghal to us. Still would be nice to know why he's so different. I can handle not knowing though
