Is $300 a good price for a BNIB 870 express?
Also what is the accurate range of this shotgun?
thanks,

$300 is a fair price, about what I paid for mine on 07-08. Accuracy and range are dependent on many, many things.
Decent deal. Effective range depends on ammo, choke, barrel length, etc.

2 3/4 or 3" shells? Reduced recoil or hot loads? Which choke will you be using? Shotguns are about versatility, but in that versatility comes variance, and lots of it.
Range with 00 buck is really sort of hard to answer. 100 yards could provide a lethal does of 00 Buck, but will your spread allow vital hits/enough hits to be lethal? Possibly, but probably not. A simple slug change would work wonders for longer range shotgun use. Federal Flite Control 00 Buckshot Magnum might prove to be the best 00 round available for a longer range shot, but it simply wont beat a slug at 100 yards.
I'm not a hunter so this will only be a fun gun for me at the range.. shooting skeet or targets.
This is a full stock gun off the shelf so as far as the choke goes its whatever comes in it.
Here what remington says "Modified Rem™ Choke"... "Puts 55-60% of pellets in 30" circle at 40 yards"
I guess I am just wanting to know what ammo to buy for the afore mentioned reasons
thanks for the help!

For defense: Federal Flite Control 00 Buck and and Remington/Winchester Foster Slugs.
For target/clays: Cheap 100rd Wal Mart Packs
$300 is an exceptional deal right now, there are lots of people looking for them and they are in and out of stock quickly. I have one. Great gun but the OE stock is too light and thin if your going to shoot a lot. Recoil is not horrible but its a lot more pleasant with a Magpul or similar stock thats a little heavier. The 18.5" barrel is not particularly good for trap shooting, but you can change it our for a 24 or longer barrel with the Remchoke system.
For a trap/clays gun I would look more along the lines of a longer barrel pump gun, maybe a Mossberg 500 as a pump gun alternative, or a 1100/Versamax/similar in an semi-auto with a longer vent rib barrel. The 1100 is possibly one of the most popular clays gun ever.
Falcon walmart had one on the shelf, didn't ask if they had any in the back. Good price.
