I'm always amazed when I meet people who don't know how to swim. Coming from So. Cal swimming is a right of passage. I've met quite a few people in CO who cannot swim.

Wow, I totally forgot about that aspect of spending so much time on the beaches, like Laguna. I was body surfing and knew how to swim at an angle to get out of a rip tide when I was 6 or 7. I think I'm still getting sand out of my ears from being sucked under by waves and bounced on my head and rolled up the beach.
