Army MP's are not 14B's. I am an MP in the Guard. I was a 11B for 13 years and a few tours and switched to 31B when I went into the Guard. When people ask about my last deployment, I usually say Baghdad, specifically Camp Stryker and Camp Cropper.

Hey lowspeed_highdrag, where were you stationed and what was your mos? Always nice to meet another devil
[Marin1[
Ummm, I dont remember...
Jk. Pendleton all 4 years, 2 with CLR17, 2 with the 11th MEU CE supporting CLB11. My MOS, well, thats a long story better told over grainy hoppy drinks. Besides a fairly fun deployment, my proudest accomplishment was this "battle hammer" we made....

Anyways, Im playing Devils Advocate here because we've got a guy who never served and cant even pronounce Marine Corps, so why are we allowing him to judge someone who may very well have been a Marine?
62% of the Corps is under 25 years old IIRC
Drinking? You act like all the young service people arn't out partying? In my college years that's all the parties I went to was a few of my enlisted friends house parties. Sure they wern't into pot, but there sure are those that do risk getting caught.
What's wrong with a thursday?
The single biggest thing you have going is the tatoo. Other than that, need to wise up that a bunch of these 18-23 year olds, while they get respect for serving, and some are straight laced. A fair bunch are also the ones who really had no other future/good options or otherwise do the same things college kids are doing. Especially how a few years ago entrance req's was a bit more relaxed.
The tatoo is a deal breaker though as far as actually completing an enlistment. When I went in i had options on the table and the same with a majority of the Marines I served with. Many did not wake up one day and decide to go into the service and it was more like a family tradition. Bottom line is that libbo was always very scarce and it was generally, unfortunate for some, taken full advantage of. At work I performed well with responsibilities galore for an 18 to 22 year old but when I was out on the town...
Everywhere I went there were always the shit bags... the "Weeds and Seeds" crew. They were not always considered bags but they fucked up once and.. One day one would show up with a tat on their neck or pop on a piss test, pot or roids even meth once. Picking up cigarette butts and busy work for years!!! ..
It takes forever (administratively) to be given the boot out of the Corps. Depending when they got busted (boot leave), their knowlege they may have about the Corps may be very limited. Three Marines at my first unit were busted on carreer ending tats and one was still there after two years.
The dishonesty you may be detecting on this guy may be him covering up for what he is really doing...[mop] I dont know if there is an MOS for that.... lol
I wasn't military, so I don't have an opinion to throw in on the legitimacy of the guy. But if he does happen to be an actual marine, I wouldn't give a SHIT what he does to unwind at a party. If I'm so adamant about being given pretty much unrestricted freedom in my civilian life, I would expect that somebody who's serving his country and offering to risk his life in that capacity deserves to pursue R&R in any way he sees fit. I've been close friends with several marines over the years, and never knew a one who didn't have some insane party stories.
When I was in, the Marine Corps was about the PARTYING. Party hard, train hard, and always go home. Ive partied with Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers in 13 countries and always had a blast, and no one ever called me a poser for doing it. Now, Im older and wiser and partying isnt my thing (although Ive never done drugs in my life).

Dont be so quick to judge. Oh, and I have exposed tattoos and had them while in the Corps (not on my hands or neck though)
Great post & pics!
I am gonna pretend I work at Seattle Mariners at a CO Rockies' party. [hahhah-no]
You can get waivers for small tats when enlisting. I knew more than one Marine with that little teardrop tat you see on inmates. . . seemed to be a common story to hear they enlisted because the judge told them, "prison or the Marine Corps." Excessive amounts of ink above the collar is typically disqualifying.
I've never met a Marine who can't spit out his MOS, unit, and even his bootcamp platoon number without having to stop to think about it. I was a 2841 Ground Radio Repairman, 3/1 Camp Pendleton, deployed with the 15th MEU; I got out 12 years ago and I still remember the names and ranks of all my Drill Instructors. Anyone who says he can't remember his MOS (all four digits) is lying about being a Marine, no other test questions necessary.

Someone needs to teach that COL how to wear his US Army and nametape.
^^^I saw that too. Thank God we can sew the crap on now!!!^^^
Well remember, thanks to Obama's (oh sorry, those damn republicans) Sequestration, we have to furlough DoD civilians, but we're gonna spend millions developing new uniforms...[facepalm]makes sense. I had the poor luck of coming in on the tail end of BDUs right when they introduced ACUs... Got all brand new (the crotch blow out kind) ACUs but my field jacket, TA50 and ECWICS was all BDU. Got out right before the switch (deployment only) to Multi-cam- and that was the one I really liked! Still pretty jealous of the Marines though, I really like the woodland MARPAT.
As for the deployment stuff- my dad came up with a pretty good explanation:
"So where in Afghanistan is your son stationed?"
"FOB Shank. You know, Shank, like a wild golf shot, or what one Mexican does to another Mexican in prison." [LOL]
Proper military uniform.
