So what's the news? Any updates to report?

Sorry I ment with the original ban. When it was going through - didn't a reporter ask him about his opinion on if he would sign or veto and his response was if the house and Senate pass it, then that is what they want and he has to sign it.

It was either mags or UBC that he stated his reason for signing was that one of his staff had promised/committed to someone that he would sign it. I'll see if I can fin a sound bit or article.

He said at the time he didn't read it, just signed it on the advice of an aide - quite disingenuous of him. Now Dick-in-pooper is term-limited so will go ahead and veto it if it comes to his desk, to win points with the Bloombergs and set his stage for a national office run.

MY STAFFER MADE ME DO IT!!

And here I thought I couldn't hate this SOB any more than I already do. [Mad]
If he's allowing his flunkies to make promises for him, then he's clearly in dereliction of his duty and should step down immediately. The people of Colorado (stupidly) voted for HIM to make decisions, not some goddamn minimum wage flunky.

Hickenlooper's political career is over and he's completely clueless about it.

I hope your right, but the illuminati may have other plans:
http://www.businessinsider.com/color...terview-2017-1
"If this gathering is any indication, Hickenlooper may be on the verge of building buzz as a 2020 hopeful. Several attendees pointed to him as someone who could rescue the party after its disastrous 2016 losses."

I don't see the dems promoting him to be a national candidate - lacks the far, far left bonafides. The big money and dem elitists are eliminating everyone who isn't idealogically pure in their eyes - like the guy running for DNC chair who inconveniently pointed out this week that islam is "anti gay" (it is). Hickenlooper is at best a political opportunist rather than a true believer. Also his appearance and speaking are not "eyes or ears friendly".

I agree with your assessment, the left is doubling down and hickenlooper doesn't fit their mold.

Agreed. Especially with the defeat of Hillary, the party is moving ever farther left and soon Bernie will be considered too moderate to lead the party.

It sucks, but we will never see the gun laws change in our favor here in CO now.
CO has become a blue state, and will stay that way, especially with the changes in the voting system and constitutional amendments this last election cycle.

This. We've crossed over and won't be going back any time soon.

With an attitude like this nothing will ever change. Remember we get the government we deserve.

Our best bet is to somehow separate the Denver area inside the beltway from the rest of the state. Do that and all problems are solved.
I guess California has been struggling with this for years though. Wasn't someone pushing this a few years back?

I didn't say I gave up. I just don't see it happening.

I see it as a challenge to overcome not a no win situation.

Might as well lump Boulder in as well.

Bingo. If more people had this outlook we'd be much better off.

Crack down on voter fraud and prevent illegal aliens and dead/non-resident people from voting (or voting multiple times), and I think the State has a really good chance at snapping back to red...Get media ethics and libel laws in place at the Fed level (with severe penalties for violators), in addition to the previous points, and I think it's almost guaranteed...

Nah, Denver is all you need to get rid of and eventually the liberals will all flock there and surrender Boulder. Boulder could be a great town if not under liberal control.

Tried it in 2014? and were labelled ignorant white hillbilly racist, from other CO residents. However i believe should Ft Collins, Boulder & Denver petition to do the same, it would be lauded as something a long time coming.

Yet California is looking at leaving the US and people are cheering it on.

If all they did was call us names then we already won. I don't shrink when someone underestimates me. I laugh when I win and look at their face when they say, " But they were racists, hillbilly blah, blah, blah. How did they win?" And I drink a shot in their honor. Often I wonder why we don't drink from the skulls of our enemies anymore?
