I see guns just like any other pivate property, do I need a background check to buy a car to make sure I have not been in horrible accidents? No. If you don't feel good about selling to someone don't sell to them, if you request to both go to an ffl for sake of mind and they refuse well walk away and keep the gun. Not that fucking hard.
One case I'm aware of occurred back around 1970. An attorney for a Black Guerrilla Army inmate smuggled a cheap .38 snub in his giant afro. At least he was suspected of having done so as it was never actually proven how the gun got in and the briefcase was searched.
There was great article(Slips my mind) but they stated that 40% was from GUNS ALREADY PURCHASED AND IN CIRCULATION!
NOT NEW GUNS!
These are the guns you see in Armslist, here, etc.
Guns that are already bought LEGALLY and the sold by private sale.
That number they repeat is only half the truth.
Right now if you don't like someone that wants to buy your gun you can profile them and not sell it. When only the government gets to approve buyers through an FFL that means the ACLU will get to decide, gun violence become worse. Within 5 years approval to buy guns will look like the TSA at the airports frisking grandma because they were forced to sell to terrorists without a record.
