Its ok to admit to everyone here that the "Professional" shooter sucked donkey balls and can not shoot a rifle to save his life. He really does suck. My kids can shoot better then that tool can.
Are you guys best friends....is that why you defend him so adamantly????

I personally have done this with my brothers mosin. I hadn't shot it all day and it had been probably a couple of years since I had picked it up last. I had 3 rounds with steel set up at 100 yrds. My first shot was a miss low right. I made the mental correction based on what I saw and my last 2 rounds were hits.

Mike, JJ and Blake are great pistol shooters. No doubt about it. I got my ass kicked at SS Nationals by Mike with some 70+ points.
It is a TV show, and I think it was not a best one to sort out good and not so good shooters. First thing being, why they did not pick (for example) Todd Jarret who tried to get in ?
However, I was not impressed with Mike´s rifle handling. If you shoot 37 shots, you should be able to hit 12" @100 without sights if you have been shooting lots with rifles before.

That states, he did not had lots of experience with different kinds of rifles. Maybe he is not as experienced with rifle than he is with pistol ?
Usually when you can spot hits from video, it is easier in real life. Just do not know, why spotter did not noticed dust clouds.
Even if there is no "vapor trail", you can always see supersonic bullets shock wave. What might had been a problem there, you have to know how to use your spotting scope. The guy with it, clearly did not know.
One thing amazed me : does it make you look cool when there is a text "Ex. Marine, Firearms instructor" etc under your photo in the TV ?
It was a long time ago, but would it make me look supercool, if I would sign all my messages : "Ex. Infantry Recon sniper and ex. Special Rapid Response Unit operator" :D
Shortly : it is a TV show, where many top shooters were left out even they tried to get in.
I watched it today with some GM, we had pretty fun laughing and drinking beer :)
Is that a good way to Find out who is good shooter and who is not ? Absolutely not. It is a TV show, lets handle it like one :)
The zipline was pretty damn cool!
the 3 gun match that does the zipline is MGM ironman, I believe.

Because I find it ironic that Doc and Cy and everyone else who actually shoots competitively and has an understanding of the various skill levels of shooters out there are the ones defending him, and the keyboard commandos are the ones calling him a choad and saying their 8 year old kid could beat him. I'm not defending him more so than calling others on their bullshit. Even he makes no excuses for his shooting that day. But there are more than a few in this thread that once again don't have the ability to think critically about the situation, and quite frankly are clueless about the various shooting skill levels in existance. I've seen it over and over again at every shooting competition I've ever been at. New shooter shows up, watches others shoot, realizes just how outmatched they are, either never comes back or readjusts their view of shooting skills and comes back for more.
So, you can make comments like a keyboard commando, or you can get a clue. Either way I could care less, but don't expect me to just let that crap float by without me calling you on it.
Call out goes to you too DD. Grab your gear, and bring it to the range to see where you rack and stack.
the point of the show is to find the best all around marksman. not just with rifles or pistols but with everything. adaptability is key. I can't wait to see them throwing knives and tomahawks.
This is like baseball. The in-shape professional athlete strikes out and gets heckled by the overweight schlub holding a hot dog and a beer.
and that's the nature of the game. superior skill or not, everybody strikes out sometimes.
